Comment: This paper looked at 117 diseased lower extremities in patients with vascular disease in the legs. The ankle/brachial systolic blood pressure index was used to evaluate the patients . In patients with a ratio less than .8 (avg. .55), there was a 29% improvement in the index to an average of .71 demonstrating improved lower extremity circulation.
